Chicago Cubs pitcher Carlos Zambrano delivers in the first inning of the Cubs' 6-1 loss to the Milwaukee Brewers in a baseball game in Chicago, Wednesday, Aug. 29, 2007. Zambrano has now tried six times to get his 15th victory, and is winless since signing a five-year, $91.5 million contract on Aug. 17.

Ben Sheets pitched like the ace he is for the Milwaukee Brewers, pushing aside a long layoff and giving his slumping team a needed lift. Carlos Zambrano, however, finished August without a victory. Sheets came off the disabled list and outpitched the Cubs’ ace in a 6-1 victory Wednesday night that moved the Brewers within 1 1/2 games of NL Central-leading Chicago.

C.C. Sabathia rarely passes up a chance to get in a dig against the Minnesota Twins. On Wednesday night, he may have buried them.
