Marcus Washington is out at least a week. Jason Campbell is officially “day-to-day.” Given the circumstances of their injuries, the Washington Redskins couldn’t ask for much better news. Washington and Campbell were injured in Saturday night’s 12-10 preseason loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers, and they spent much of Sunday afternoon at Redskins Park getting treatment for soreness and swelling.

The Detroit Tigers will recall Joel Zumaya from his rehabilitation assignment to be active for Tuesday night’s game against the Cleveland Indians. Detroit optioned right-hander Aquilino Lopez to Triple-A Toledo on Sunday, clearing room for Zumaya. The right-hander, whose fastball regularly tops 100 mph, had surgery three months ago to repair a ruptured tendon in his right middle finger.
