Focus on A-Rod as Yanks prepare for ALDS

New York Yankees third baseman Alex Rodriguez talks to outfielder Melky Cabrera through the batting cage during a workout at Yankee Stadium in New York, Tuesday, Oct. 2, 2007. The Yankees are preparing for the American League Division Series against the Cleveland Indians.

Colorado Rockies' Matt Holliday reacts after being called out on strikes on a pitch from Los Angeles Dodgers starting pitcher Chad Billingsley in the first inning of the Rockies' 3-1 victory in a Major League Baseball game in Denver on Tuesday, Sept. 18, 2007. The game was being played as part of a day/night doubleheader to make up for the game rained out on July 27.

So centered on keeping the Rockies’ slim playoff hopes alive, Francis didn’t realize until afterward that he’d struck out a career-high 10 batters or that he had set a franchise record for wins by a lefty.
